I swear every day she is learning something new. She sings so many songs. Her favorite for the last couple months is Andrea Bocelli's "Time to Say Goodbye." She loves to watch a video we made for my Papou's memorial with photos and music, and that song plays in the video. She would watch that video 10 times a day if we let her. I love how much she loves to watch it, she gets to see so many photos and especially can see photos of my Papou who I want her to know all about. He adored her so much and was such an incredible man and huge part of my life growing up.
She also sings Twinkle, twinkle and Itsy Bitsy Spider and at least 3 different songs in Farsi and her ABC's all the way through. She is speaking both English and Farsi and understands direction in both languages. Her vocabulary is so incredible and extensive for her age. She has the memory of an elephant and if she sees something one time, she remembers it.
Every Monday she spends with my mom while we are at work. They go to Gymboree in the morning and then to see my yiayia afterwards and Eleni loves it. In the evening we sit and talk to her about what she did with Yiayia that day and she will tell you all that she saw. Last Monday when we got home, her buddy Sebastian was at our house and she was over the moon to see him. Last night when we pulled in to the driveway she asked me if Sebastian was there. I was astonished, she remembered from last week and associated the two Mondays together. By Sunday she is always asking for Yiayia because she knows that we go there every Sunday.
She knows all her colors and shapes and animals and animal noises. She can count to 20 in English and 10 in Farsi.
There is probably so much more that she does that my mother in law could add to this post. She spends Tuesday-Fridays with her Granny while we are at work and she is a phenomenal teacher to our little Eleni. She has taught her so much. They love to go in the backyard and garden together and she teaches her about all the different flowers and trees and plants. My mother in law's backyard is amazing full of different flowers and fruit trees and Ali's huge koi pond. It is one of Eleni's favorite places to be in the world for sure.
This year we are having a small celebration for her birthday with her little friends and our family. We are gonna make it about the kids this year and have little Sesame Street themed games since most of you know her and Elmo are total BFF's.
She is sleeping in a big girl bed now, yes a twin size bed, for the last month or so now. She loves it, she has all her stuffed animals lined up on the side of the bed and every night we read Goodnight Moon and then she says goodnight to every animal and kisses them. She is sleeping really good now that she is in her own bed and her own room.
I will post more soon and update with photos. For now, here is a pic of her from this morning watching Sid the Science Kid. One of her favorite shows these days.
