My inspiration, my best friend, my mama

She was a single mom when my sister and I were 4 and 2. She raised 2 girls all by herself, always taught us to be independent and work hard.

She worked night shifts when we were little so she got to spend time with us during the day and was a single mom.

Because she drove me 2 hours each way to high school so I could stay in school with all my friends, even though I was a mouthy little bitch who didn't deserve it.

Because she is a cancer survivor. She survived 4th stage breast cancer that metastasized to her spine and she still was apart of my every single day even in isolation with no immune system in the hospital while getting a stem cell treatment.

Because she always has a clean house. Her fridge is always full, and there is always a bed with clean sheets for me to sleep in and a couch to curl up on.

Because she must of been a dog in her past life because she loves them so much.

Because she put up with me and loved me when I was an unruly teenager and loved me even when I deserved a smack across the face.

Because she is the best cook in the whole world. Whenever we spend the night she makes sure to wake up extra early and cook a elaborate breakfast like we are in a Bed and breakfast.

Because she loves Ali like her son, and Ali simply cherishes her.

Because she gave me the best step dad, I ever could of asked for. Who loves me like his own daughter and always has. Someone I can always talk to, someone Ali loves like a father. And someone we can always have fun with and count on.

She’s a hardworking nurse. She's brilliant. She's the best caretaker I know.

Because on her only day of off the week she watches our sweet Eleni. She takes her to Gymboree and plays with her all day long, and if they miss a Monday together, both of their hearts are aching.

Because she goes with us to amusement parks and rides the swings with Eleni and has the smile of a 10 year old while doing it.

Because of the way I see her look at our daughter, the way she loves her and the pride in her heart she has for me as a mama.

Because she is the most selfless person I know, but will always tell me when she needs a day of rest.

Because she is always dressed very chic, is a gorgeous blonde with a super stylish haircut and she is my absolute favorite shopping partner.

Because she always tells me the right thing, even if I don't want to hear it.

Because the last 2 Sunday nights when I have spent the night, her and my sister and Eleni and I have all slept in one room and it was the most loving room filled with really great woman my mom created.

Because I can still climb in her bed, cuddle with her, hold her hand in public, sit on her lap and love her with all my heart.

Because, she is always the one I want to share my most exciting news with, she is my biggest fan, my biggest supporter and my BEST friend.

Happy Mothers day to MY mommi, I adore you more than you will ever understand and I cant wait to share the bond we have with my precious little Eleni.
